How can I contact you if I need help?
Just call, click, or come in! Our normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. But, you may call our local office anytime 24 hours a day - any day of the week when you have an emergency or immediate need! We are the ONLY local staffing firm with this service. This service is available after business hours 24/7/365 to allow you to speak with one of our professional staff.
How do I place an order for staffing assistance?
The more information we have about YOUR need, the better job we can do to meet those needs. Please be prepared to answer specific questions regarding the assignment and any special skill level required. In addition to general information about the assignment, we will need to know things like the work schedule, dress code, and length of assignment.
The most important part of our job is to match our employees' skills to YOUR needs. We adhere to current employment laws and practices and our code of ethics does not allow Shannon Staffing, Inc. to honor any illegal or discriminatory requests.
What is the selection process for the employee(s) you send me?
Based upon the information you provide us, our Staffing Supervisors will utilize in-depth knowledge of the employee, and our PROVE-IT! skill matching system to insure that an great match is made to meet your needs.
PROVE-IT! gives us the ability to test the applicant on various industrial, technical and clerical skills hand-picked by you to meet your needs! The final decision is based on the skills of available employees and our knowledge of YOUR company.
Does Shannon Staffing, Inc. do reference checks?
Yes, however the accuracy and extent of information obtained about each employee may be limited by factors beyond our control. These factors include the truthfulness of information on the application and the extent of cooperation from work references contacted.
We make every effort to research our applicants as thoroughly as possible. We partner with an various background check sources and have the ability to do national background checks (including criminal, educational, driving) and this information is usually supplied instantly. These reports are obtained in compliance with restrictions imposed by applicable law regarding such inquiries.
What about drug testing?
Shannon Staffing, Inc. has implemented an extensive Substance Abuse Policy that includes drug testing. In addition to random, for cause, and work related injury drug tests, you may request pre-assignment testing of potential employees.
What information should I provide employee(s) you send to me?
Our employees receive pertinent information regarding the assignment. In addition you should:
a) introduce them to co-workers and their supervisor; show them the facilities, parking area, and where to store their personal belongings.
b) be sure that the employees are briefed on required safety and emergency procedures.
c) insure that they are aware of specific duties, what is expected of them, and communicate any changes in work to be performed.
Are there any restrictions in the duties we may assign the employee(s) you send to us?
Within the normal duties of the assignment and the employees' abilities, you may ask anything of our employees that you would ask of your own, with the following exceptions:
a) having access to or handling cash or other valuables;
b) driving any motorized vehicles
c) operating heavy equipment
d) climbing and using ladders.
To insure appropriate placement, Shannon Staffing, Inc. must approve assigning our employee(s) to positions where one of the above duties would be performed as part of the assignment.
Prior to assigning our employee, you agree not to change duties of the assignment without the approval of Shannon Staffing, Inc.
How are your employees paid and how am I billed?
Employees are responsible for submitting a signed and approved timecard to us for hours that they work each week and are paid weekly. Carefully verify and approve the timecard, as you agree to be billed for approved hours based on this signed timecard.
When your assignment supervisor signs the timecard, as the client, you are accepting responsibility to pay for the hours indicated. Please insure accuracy before your representative approves the timecard. You will receive a weekly invoice that is due and payable upon receipt.
Do your employees receive overtime pay?
Our employees' workweek runs Monday through Sunday. Overtime is paid at the rate of time and one half for any hours worked exceeding forty hours during this period. Overtime can also be paid in accordance with your policy (such as over eight hours worked in a day).
Do your employees receive benefits?
Yes. Our employees receive the “best benefits in the business”. In addition to Unemployment and Worker's Compensation coverage, our employees have access to a wide range of valuable employee benefits, including medical insurance, vacation and holiday bonus, performance bonuses, educational assistance, and employee discounts. Employees may also be eligible for referral bonuses as well as other recognition and appreciation awards.
We need your help for only a couple of hours…is that a problem?
We guarantee our employees at least four hours minimum work per assignment. This is actually one of the ways we insure that we can send you the best employee available. That means, when we pay the employee for four hours, you will receive an invoice for those hours.
What alternative do I have if your employee is not working out?
Fortunately, this doesn't happen very often. However, the performance of a Shannon Staffing, Inc. employee carries a "lifetime guarantee" throughout the entire length of the assignment. Our guarantee states that you will not be billed for the employee's last four hours or the replacement's first four hours of work.
Should you become dissatisfied with an employee's on-the-job performance, please call our Service Center immediately at any time during the assignment. We will want to discuss the situation with you and take corrective action as discreetly and smoothly as possible.
What should I do if your employee is injured on-the-job?
To help insure that this doesn't happen, our staff may want to make a personal visit to the work location prior to the beginning of the assignment, when possible, to familiarize themselves with any potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
As the client, by law, you are required to include the employee in any on-site safety training you conduct. However, we realize that accidents do happen.
Please call your local Shannon Staffing, Inc. Service Center immediately when an injury occurs, even if you think the injury is only minor. You will be asked to complete an injury report soon after an accident. Immediate treatment should be sought at the local emergency room.
As the employer, Shannon Staffing, Inc. is responsible for all matters relating to Worker's Compensation claims. Your prompt notification of an injury requiring treatment will help insure proper claims procedures and that drug and alcohol testing is completed in accordance with our Substance Abuse Policy.
May I hire your employee on a permanent basis?
We believe the flexibility provided by a core of client employees supplemented by a protective ring of Shannon Staffing, Inc., employees can be the most effective method to insulate you from high employment costs and your employees from devastating layoff.
However, when the time comes to add permanent employees, observing our employees on assignment is an excellent opportunity to conduct a "working interview" to find just the right match for your position. We have many options available to meet your short and long range hiring needs.
